#StrongerTogether, with a real-life experience at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust (PAHT) in the UK.
As a response to COVID-19 and the need for intra-hospital and outer-hospital collaboration and image sharing Agfa HealthCare and Microsoft joined forces to connect their XERO Universal Viewer and Microsoft Teams platforms.
Realizing the potential benefit of connecting both platforms, Agfa HealthCare, Microsoft and PAHT deployed a Share to Microsoft Teams integration. The integrated solution allows the over 450 users across the Trust to quickly share urgent imaging results from XERO and collaborate with other healthcare professionals connected to Microsoft Teams.
“The Share to Microsoft Teams integration has proven to be an indispensable tool for collaborative working during the current social-distancing constraints. Its functionality allows clinicians to remotely share and discuss individual cases securely on any device, including mobiles.” comments Dr James Diss, Radiology Registrar, Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
Stephen Townrow, Imaging Systems Manager, Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust says: “It’s an innovative tool, that assists the clinicians with sharing patient imaging around the Trust. The solution works seamlessly with Microsoft Teams, using our original XERO client. The deployment was rapid with no downtime.”
Following the initial use for COVID-19 and feedback, the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) is also utilising the Microsoft Teams integration via a dedicated ITU channel and direct share from XERO.
“We are excited partners like Agfa HealthCare are building on Microsoft Teams to provide new communication and collaboration solutions to help healthcare providers and clinicians in their response to COVID-19, and as they build new ways to support remote work” said Mike Ammerlaan, Senior Director, Microsoft 356, Microsoft Corp.
